Are people dying from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine?

Some social media users and people opposed to or skeptical of vaccinations have been pushing claims that COVID-19 vaccine recipients are dying due to the vaccine.
A number of self-proclaimed anti-vaxxers have shared a claim that a nurse in Alabama, who was filmed fainting after being vaccinated, died because of it. In fact she is alive and well.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., founder of the anti-vaccine group, Children’s Defense Fund, has suggested that medical explanations for deaths unrelated to the vaccine are inaccurate or untruthful, writing, “These simple declarations — that deaths and injuries following vaccination are unrelated coincidences — are becoming a pattern.”

To date, no deaths have been linked causally to the COVID-19 vaccine. Millions of doses have been administered in the U.S., U.K., and other counties with no related deaths reported.
It is expected that some people will happen to die after receiving a vaccination, due to unrelated causes like advanced age and/or underlying medical conditions. With many Americans 65 and older receiving the vaccine now, it is sadly inevitable that some will pass away from other age- or health-related circumstances.
With over 420,000 deaths in the United States due to COVID-19 to date, we strongly recommend protecting yourself against this known deadly disease by getting vaccinated when you’re able to receive it.
